SINGAPORE – 26 October 2023 –

ARTiSTORY and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, join forces once again with ANTI:DOTE to unveil the final chapter of their captivating art-inspired afternoon tea series. This time, prepare to be transported to the bold and captivating world of Piet Mondrian, a pioneering 20th-century abstract artist. “Rhapsody of Modernism” follows the footsteps of previous successful afternoon teas celebrating Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and the renowned Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.

From November 1st to 30th, 2023, embark on a multi-sensory journey through Mondrian’s iconic art. Indulge in a specially curated menu featuring savoury and sweet treats meticulously crafted to reflect his signature style – bold primary colours and geometric precision. This artistic afternoon tea is available daily at ANTI:DOTE from 3 pm to 5 pm, with an additional midday session on Saturdays and Sundays (12 pm to 2 pm).

Get ready for an immersive experience at ANTI:DOTE! This captivating space will be transformed into a tribute to Piet Mondrian’s career, echoing his iconic masterpiece “Composition with Blue, Yellow, and Red, 1927.” Expect elements inspired by the painting, including distinctive display shelves, mirrored walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows lining the driveway – perfect for capturing unforgettable photos.

Created by Chef de Cuisine Jacky Lai and Executive Pastry Chef Yong Ming Choong, the menu of artfully designed treats focuses on distinctive form and colour.

The high tea opens with a savoury symphony. Chef Jacky reimagines the classic Coronation Chicken in a vibrant yellow, using a playful blend of curry and mayonnaise for both flavour and colour. Smoked Eel takes centre stage in three captivating hues – blue pea, yuzu, and milk – each echoing a colour from the artwork and complemented by a house-made teriyaki sauce. Chef’s Mortadella sandwich pays homage to Mondrian’s bold black lines with thick slices of house-made white toast and charcoal brioche layered with a luxurious truffle aioli. Finally, a vibrant red square of ASC Certified Smoked Trout completes the savoury journey, paired with a dollop of beetroot cream cheese and glistening trout roe.

Opalys Yuzu Opera,” is a vibrant reimagining of the classic opera cake. This treat features layers of almond sponge soaked in yuzu syrup and topped with a velvety white chocolate ganache. Next, the “Vanilla Almond” dessert offers a simple yet elegant foundation with its sable base. For a burst of blueberry, the “Cassis Blueberry Tart” showcases the colour blue with a refined serving of blueberry cream nestled within a crispy tart shell. Mondrian’s artistic influence even extends to the “Strawberry Lemonade Macaron,” each bite bursting with a clever balance of Japanese strawberries and zesty lemon. Meanwhile, the “Mango-Passionfruit Cheesecake” takes a citrusy turn, highlighting the sweetness of mango and passionfruit.

The artistic journey continues with the “Manjari Buckwheat Namelaka,” a sable tart featuring a rich 64% chocolate cream infused with candied buckwheat for a delightful crunch. Finally, a “Chocolate Bon Bon” completes the visual feast, echoing the abstract shapes of Piet Mondrian’s iconic artworks with stunning white, blue, and green accents. Traditional French pastries like the “Sea Salt Kouign Amann” also make their debut on this menu, alongside ANTI:DOTE’s signature “Madagascar Vanilla Scones” served with Devonshire cream, lemon butter curd, and strawberry marmalade.

Enhance your experience with a specially crafted beverage! Choose from two cocktails or a mocktail inspired by Mondrian’s vibrant colours, all formulated by ANTI:DOTE’s Head Mixologist Kingston Chin. These creations capture the essence of Mondrian’s art, translating pure planes of colour into a visual and sensory delight. Each sip promises a unique journey through delightful flavour contrasts. For a perfect pairing with the sweet selections, “Blank Space” combines Talisker Islay Single Malt Scotch with Gentiane de Lure, Baileys, salted caramel milk, citrus, and spicy bitters. If you prefer a playful blend of sweet and savoury, “Harmony” offers a combination of Don Julio Blanco, Piment d’Espelette, Cherry Berry, lime, and salted sage soda. The non-alcoholic option, “Perfect Balance,” provides a harmonious mix of Seedlip Spice and Spiced Agave.

The afternoon tea experience is priced at S$98++ per guest with two afternoon tea cocktails, or S$68++ per guest with a choice of two non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, the reduced children’s menu is available at S$34++ per child.
