Inspired by Charles Seddon Evans’ 1919 adaptation, “The Little Glass Slipper,” guests will be transported to a world of magic. This captivating children’s novel, beautifully illustrated by the renowned Arthur Rackham, is now treasured in the British Library. Fairmont Singapore’s high tea promises a delightful culinary experience, drawing inspiration from both the story and Rackham’s iconic artwork.
From March 1st to 31st, 2024, Fairmont Singapore invites you to an enchanting high tea experience: “Adventures in Storyland.” Immerse yourself in the timeless magic of Cinderella with beautifully crafted treats inspired by the classic tale. Savour an artistic and whimsical culinary journey at ANTI:DOTE daily from 3pm to 5pm, with extended weekend hours from 12pm to 2pm.

Step into a transformed ANTI:DOTE with tones of gold, pink and black, offering a tribute to Charles Seddon Evans’ rendition of Cinderella from the British Library collection, and the enchanting illustrations by Arthur Rackham. From the outside, guests will see scenes from the fairy tale on the full-length glass windows of ANTI:DOTE; setting the stage for an enchanting experience within. Upon entering, be greeted by a large storybook photowall with details of the high tea experience and illustrations from the book.
Dive into a culinary adventure inspired by Cinderella’s fairytale! Chefs Jacky Lai and Yong Ming Choong have crafted a menu that takes you on a journey through the story. Start with savory delights like finger sandwiches that bring you to the magical ball, then indulge in sweet and savory treats like the Granny Smith Apple Pie with a surprising olive twist, mirroring the grandeur of the palace. Even the duck confit with green peas reflects the enchanting gardens, and the cured egg yolk adds depth, just like Cinderella’s character.
From castles and carriages to clocks and glass slippers, the sweet selection is a whimsical journey. Indulge in an apple sablé tart shaped like the Prince’s castle, a pumpkin cinnamon tea cake resembling Cinderella’s carriage, and apricot confit mimicking the clock at midnight. Passionfruit macarons adorned with the book’s logo offer tropical flavors, while hand-cut yuzu desserts with meringue resemble Cinderella’s glass slippers. Rounding out the treats are the Prince’s crown-shaped coffee choux, pink diamond chocolates reflecting Rackham’s illustrations, and ANTI:DOTE’s signature vanilla scones with classic accompaniments.
Enhance your fairytale with a themed beverage! Choose from a cocktail or mocktail by Lead Mixologist Marlon Aseoche. The Carriage Pumpkin Sour (S$22) complements sweets with its burnt butter vodka, calvados, and pumpkin spice, while the Royal Ball Mocktail (price not given) blends Seedlip Grove, blueberry, non-alcoholic sauvignon blanc, and sage soda, mirroring the story’s colors and garden imagery.
The high tea experience is priced at $68++ per adult with two non-alcoholic beverages and $35++ per child (6 to 12 years old). Additionally, National Library Board, Singapore app users can enjoy 10% off the high tea menu when they present their eCard upon payment.
